To me, the Green Office is an initiative to implement a beautiful and responsible form of living together at our university, in Amsterdam, and on our planet. This is what is important to me and what I trust in, to improve our role for the environment based on sustainability, responsibility and common welfare.

Personally, I believe that sustainability should not only be a trend or passion of a small part of society but a premise for any business or institution. Thus, I believe that especially at a research driven university, education regarding the topic as well as the the sustainable operation of its facilities should be of great importance to set an example for other businesses and institutions. While last year I fininished my Bachelor in PPLE at the UvA, coordinating the community team, this year I am taking over the position of the team coordinator for Research & Education while doing a Master in Economics.

For me this happened when I started studying Future Planet Studies, being a conscious consumer (or in Dutch: ‘consuminderen’) and filling my house with plants -just like my mom. At least I know where my passion for sustainability originates from. And now I hope to inspire others in trying to live an earth-friendly life as well!
