Throughout the academic year 2022-2023, there will be numerous projects that will be run by the Campus team when applying to become a member you do not have to apply for specific projects.

Expand Reusable Cups!

​

Following the last year’s successful reusable cup project Vytal is currently active in the H-building cafeteria, and the Campus Team is now looking for an even greater green change! The goal is to extend the reusable cups to all coffee machines throughout the whole UvA Campuses, starting from Roeterseiland. However, the road to great success is never easy and habits are hard to change. Volunteers who are up to the challenge of encouraging students to drink their coffees from cups to be returned are needed!

Reusable Cutlery

​

Another ambitious project following the footsteps of the last year, in addition to having reusable cups, the Campus Team will now strive towards the removal of the plastic cutlery at the UvA cafeterias! Volunteers with good communication, negotiation and brainstorming skills along with good connections are highly in demand!

Vegan Cafeteria

​

As the ultimate end goal of the previous two projects, together with the collaboration of the Central Student Council (Studentenraad) and ASVA, the goal is to make the food options offered in the H-building cafeteria 100% Vegan! This project also serves a higher purpose which is stated in the White Paper Sustainability: 25% ecological footprint reduction in the next 5 years. As for every project, fresh green ideas are invaluable!

Pen Recycling

​

Starting last year, UvA Green Office re-established the collaboration with Terra Cycle Company and cleared up all of our four pen recycling stations and give them a fresher look. We collected three large boxes of pens from P.C. Hoofthuis, Sciencepark and Roeterseiland, resulting in a total of 7311! This translated into points which will be followed by a donation to a charity. Volunteers are needed to further promote the project in their respective studies, social circles and make pen recycling more visible. The more points we collect, the greater the impact we can make! Other Projects Campus Team are always in need and welcoming towards new green perspectives and ideas. Many great project proposals are waiting to be implemented which will become available later throughout the year.
