The R&E team works on interdisciplinary collaboration, educational material, and sustainability-related research projects. They are currently working on building a sustainable research community through the brand-new "Knowledge Hub", amongst other things. Research and Education activities include "GreenTalks" interviews, hosting a research-based podcast, and compiling sustainability-related courses. 

The Research & Education portfolio thus holds three main responsibilities: 

  • Building, and sustaining, an active sustainability research community through fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and promoting any events and developments related to sustainability at the University of Amsterdam

  • Actively participating in encouraging the integration of sustainability into new programmes as well as reviewing and promoting existing sustainability-related curriculum at the University of Amsterdam

  • Fostering a culture of research and theory-based approaches to sustainability within the UvA Green Office

The position of the Research & Education team leader is currently filled by Rachel Ham.
