The research and education team launched the very first campaign to get Ecosia on campus at the University of Amsterdam in 2020. In October 2021, Ecosia was implemented in more than 350 computers around the university, including the Singel Library

Unlike Google, Ecosia uses the money they generate from clicks on the advertisement (around 0.5 cents per search) to plant trees! If Ecosia were as big as Google, 15% of all global CO2 emissions could be absorbed! Especially in this work from home era, we hope to see a proportion of the university's 30,000+ students install Ecosia as their default browser!
