The UvA Green Office is happy to announce that we are hiring in three positions for the next academic year!


Please note that the positions start in July of 2025, working remotely for the summer is possible!


Following are the positions and their descriptions:


Please note- The 'Office Manager' position is only for students who speak fluent Dutch.


Communication Team Lead


We are looking for a student (Bachelor's or Master's) to fill the part-time position of Communications team lead. 


In the role, you will be in charge of leading a team of volunteers to fulfill tasks assigned by the team and created by yourself. Most of the work that you do in this role will be alone under the supervision of a manager, i.e. responding to emails, reaching out to collaborating organizations, creating posts for social media, web design and content creation (through Instagram, Buzzsprout and LinkedIn). 


The role requires 16hrs/week, with a fixed contract from the University of Amsterdam. 


Here are the requirements in short:

  • Excellent website design skills

  • Excellent command of English and preferably Dutch

  • Ample prior experience in creating advertising material for events

  • Prior experience in working within a team

  • Good communication skills

  • Prior experience in leading a team of volunteers

  • Time management skills

  • Creativity in starting media-related projects

  • Podcasting and video-making experience

  • Must be a student in the academic year 2025-2026

  • Can handle high-intensity, stressful situations

  • Flexible and quick to respond

Co-Manager 2


As Co-Manager 2, you are in charge of the administrative work required to ensure that all four teams can complete their responsibilities without complications. You will work with the Co-manager 1 to support the team. 


We are looking for someone who has extensive previous experience in taking minutes, organizing meeting times and meeting locations, and managing a budget and writing a budget plan. 


The role requires 16hrs/week, with a fixed contract from the University of Amsterdam. 

Here are the requirements in short:

  • Excellent command of English and preferably Dutch

  • Good leadership skills 

  • Prior experience in working within a team

  • Good communication skills

  • Prior experience in working with volunteers

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Must be a student in the academic year 2025-2026

  • Can handle high-intensity, stressful situations

  • Flexible and quick to respond

  • Prior experience in taking clear and concise minutes within a meeting

  • Prior experience in treasury/financing 

  • Strong negotiation skills 

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills 




Co-Manager 1


As Co-Manager 1, you are in charge of the day-to-day work required to ensure that all four teams can complete their responsibilities without complications.

 

We are looking for someone who has extensive previous experience in chairing meetings, planning and writing agendas, member well-being checks, and managing supplies. This role requires a person who is able to give constructive feedback to paid and unpaid members with appropriate language. Essentially, we are looking for a people-person. The Co-Manager 1 will set the tone of the office, so we will look for a person who can fit the existing team perfectly. 


 We require a person who speaks Dutch in this position as a main function will be to represent the team in in-/formal settings within and outside of the UvA. 

The role requires 16hrs/week, with a fixed contract from the University of Amsterdam.

  • Excellent command of Dutch and English

  • Excellent chairing and leadership skills

  • Prior experience in working within a team

  • Good communication skills

  • Prior experience in working with volunteers

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Must be a student in the academic year 2025-2026 

  • Can handle high-intensity, stressful situations

  • Flexible and quick to respond

  • Prior experience in representing or speaking for an organization, especially in advocacy or negotiations

  • Prior experience in team building

  • Experienced in crisis management within a team/amongst team members

  • Strong negotiation skills 

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
